Upcoming Classes in 2012

Learning the Skills of Meditation

Facilitated by Marge Orchard LUT

Practicing the Silence (meditating) is fundamental to Unity  teaching and essential for our spiritual development.  During this class, we will define meditation, explain its benefits, practice different types of meditation, learn how to deal with resistance to meditation and learn how to develop a regular meditation practice. Time will be given to journal about the meditation experience. In addition, after reading about and discussing meditation practice, we will have the opportunity to create a personally designed meditation program.

Bible Class  …

for Beginners and Advanced Students Alike

Starting in February, Rev Jan will offer one of her favorite classes – Bible Overview: Hebrew Scriptures.  If you love the bible, are “bible phobic,” or just trying to understand why there’s such a big fuss about the bible. . . this is the class for you.  Discover the latest scholarship and thought about this sacred scripture.

What are the stories?  What are their hidden meanings?  And most importantly why are these stories important to me?  What was going on historically when these stories were written?  How can these stories’ lessons and apply to my life today?

Rev Jan guarantees you’ll never look at the bible in the same way after this class.

Bring a bible – any one will do – but New Revised Standard Edition or New International Edition preferred.  If you don’t have one we will have some in class you can use.

Six weeks starting Monday, February 27th – April 2nd

at 11:00am and 7:00pm
